New research initiative timed to G20 Miami Summit aims to map deepening political and business links between Doha and Washington
Doha/Miami, September 2026 — Biz-Expansion has officially launched research for Qatar 2027, its first comprehensive annual business review of the State of Qatar, deliberately scheduled to align with Qatar’s guest appearance at the G20 Summit in Miami this December.
The publication will explore how expanding political alignment between the United States and Qatar is reshaping investment flows, sector priorities and cross-border partnerships, with South Florida positioned as a strategic gateway between the Gulf and the Americas.
US–Qatar relations have moved well beyond traditional defense and energy cooperation into a broader economic partnership spanning finance, technology, logistics, infrastructure, major events and professional services. Qatari sovereign capital, airline connectivity and global event platforms increasingly intersect with US innovation, capital markets and corporate expansion strategies.
High-level diplomatic engagement, strategic dialogues and defense partnerships have created a stable foundation for deeper commercial ties. Investment frameworks, bilateral business councils and institutional memoranda are increasingly being tested through actual transactions, joint ventures, relocations and hiring plans rather than remaining at the level of statements.
“This is not just another market report,” said Juan M. S. Clark, Executive Director, Biz-Expansion. “Qatar’s presence at the G20 in Miami crystallizes a trend we’ve been tracking: the US–Qatar relationship is maturing from strategic dialogue into tangible business pipelines. Our 2027 edition is designed to document that transition and help investors understand where the real opportunities are forming.”
“Anyone can list priorities,” said Alberto Rodríguez, Head of Content, Biz-Expansion. “We’re interested in what’s actually breaking ground: which US–Qatar partnerships are moving from MoU to operation, where talent and capital are flowing, and what bottlenecks leaders are still working to remove.”
Key sectors under review include energy and utilities, including LNG and renewables; banking and financial services, fintech and Islamic finance; trade and logistics, ports, aviation and free zones; transportation and infrastructure; real estate and construction; healthcare and sports; education and workforce development; technology and innovation; tourism and hospitality; arts and culture; and government affairs and investment promotion.
South Florida’s role as a hemispheric business hub adds a distinct dimension to the Qatar 2027 edition. The region’s concentration of multinational headquarters, trade platforms, logistics infrastructure and Latin American connectivity makes it a natural partner for Qatari investors and operators seeking a US foothold.
“Miami has always been a bridge, but the G20 moment elevates that role,” said Thea Zayek, Content Manager, Biz-Expansion. “We’re seeing Qatari and US stakeholders test new models in finance, logistics, technology and infrastructure. The question is how to scale those pilots into lasting corridors. That’s what we want to capture in this edition.”
The research will pay particular attention to Qatari investment activity in South Florida and the broader US market; US companies using Qatar as a regional hub; joint initiatives in finance, logistics, technology and infrastructure; talent and education programs linking Qatari and US institutions; and the role of the G20 Summit in Miami as a catalyst for new partnerships.
The decision to time Biz-Expansion Qatar 2027 Executive Brief to coincide with the G20 Summit in Miami (Dec. 14-16, Trump National Doral Miami) is intentional. Qatar’s participation as a guest at the summit underscores its growing role in global economic governance and signals a willingness to engage more deeply with US and international business communities.
